Things to consider when sending pictures
Henley Whalers - If you
don't have scanner or digital camera, see me.
If any of the following is too technical, or seems like rubbish, or you need
help, please contact me
Format:- JPG or GIF is preferred. BMP is acceptable.
Picture size:- "Thumbnail"
pictures should be about 180*120 pixels and 10Kb file size.
Full sized pictures should be max 1000 pixels wide by 650 high to fit the screen
comfortably, e.g. Skipper's Birthday.
File size - Max 200Kb is preferred,
though I can shrink them if necessary.
The higher resolution pictures of the
GRR are more than 200K but the detail is more than necessary for the web.
The GLRR
(Rye) pics are only 20K yet are relatively clear.
There is little value in sending
me really large files because:-
1) they take too long for you to transmit
2) they take too long for me to receive
3) they are wasted on the web. (We are not aiming to provide copyable hi res
pics!)
Whatever you send me, I can if necessary shrink the dimensions and the file size.
