Our Traditional Boxing Day row

26th December 2010 dawned bright, with sun upon enough remaining snow to remind us it had been a white Christmas. A thin film of ice encircled Molly and the reeds, the mooring lines and cover were stiff with ice, but even gentle rowing was enough to thaw the fingers.

A merry party of non-rowing friends and relatives awaited us at Mill Meadows with mulled wine, mince pies and Christmas cake.

Was the timing much better on the way "home", or just our perception of it?
